Merry Christmas to all

I’ve been sat at my desk this week, mulling over the year gone by Merry Christmas to all and planning out the year ahead.

One of the highlights of my year was creating the Rewilding Garden at the RHS Tatton Show in July. The build period for any flower show is intense – you have a short amount of time to push your own boundaries and create a mature garden worthy of a panel of judges.

But then once it’s done, I have four days of chatting with visitors, who are just as passionate as I am about nature, ecology and really high-end garden design.

You can still watch the segment on BBC Gardeners’ World where I was interviewed by Frances Tophill – it’s around 35 minutes into the episode, just after the prize-winning cabbages and gooseberries.

Sketching this week

I’ve lost count of the amount of garden designs I’ve created this year – there has been so many! And while I love using SketchUp on an iPad, I have re-discovered the beauty of pencil or ink sketches this year, which really bring a garden to life.

I’d like to wish all of my clients, connections and friends a Merry Christmas to all and a wonderful New Year.
