TIM BATCHELOR

About Tim
With a lifelong passion for plants and gardens, Tim has been immersed in horticulture from an early age. His first gardening memory is sowing marigold seeds at just three years old, an early spark that grew into a lasting career. An interest in plant biology at school led to a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture at Wye College, University of London, near Canterbury, Kent.
During his studies, Tim developed a particular fascination with Italian Renaissance gardens, visiting the iconic Villa Lante in Lazio and later writing his degree thesis on the subject. A scholarship then took him to Massey University in New Zealand’s North Island, where he studied landscape design and practice.
Tim has gained wide-ranging experience across the horticulture industry, including garden centres, nursery management, education, and advisory roles, before becoming a Diploma student at Kew Gardens, London. Now based in Cheshire, as well as working with White Mosaic, he runs a planting design business and has completed numerous projects around Cheshire.
