About Jane

Jane Bingham is a garden and landscape designer creating refined, story-led gardens that redefine luxury in a changing world. Based in Chester, she works throughout the North West and North Wales, with projects delivered across the UK for private clients and public settings seeking landscapes of lasting significance.

Creativity, craft and technical understanding run deep in Jane’s heritage. With family roots in fine art, horticulture, cabinet making and engineering, she developed an intuitive understanding of form, structure and materials, alongside a belief that beauty and function must work in harmony. This balance of artistry and precision defines her approach.

Jane studied Fashion and Textiles, honing a sophisticated eye for colour, texture and composition, before working with design-led brands including Laura Ashley and Fired Earth. Her career later took her into Country House Wedding Venues, where she experienced the emotional power of landscapes and encountered the work of Piet Oudolf and Christopher Bradley-Hole, an influence that marked a turning point in her creative direction.

Story sits at the heart of Jane’s work. Inspired by childhood favourites such as Alice in Wonderland, The Secret Garden and The Wizard of Oz, she views gardens as places of discovery that shape how people feel and connect. Each project begins with listening to the land, the architecture and the people who will inhabit it, uncovering a narrative rooted in landscape, life and values. That story is translated into a living design that feels deeply personal and entirely of its place.

Her work has been recognised through award-winning designs and show gardens, and she brings the same clarity and attention to detail to private commissions of all scales. Jane’s ambition is to create gardens of national and international significance that redefine what landscapes can be and provide.

Luxury, for Jane, is defined by intelligence, restraint and connection. Her designs combine rewilding with refinement, creating ecologically rich gardens that feel natural and immersive, yet carefully composed. These landscapes evolve over time, supported by discreet technology and climate-responsive systems that enhance resilience while maintaining a sense of calm.

Climate resilience and biodiversity underpin every design, with gardens created to thrive, support wildlife and promote wellbeing. For Jane, design is the vision and intent that gives a landscape meaning, while gardening is the skilled, ongoing process that allows it to mature. Clients value her creative vision, sensitivity and personal service, resulting in enduring landscapes designed to be lived in, loved and to stand the test of time.
