LIV SLEATOR

About Liv
With a first career in academic research, Liv takes her logical, detail driven approach to life and combines it with her creative flair and love of nature. Having graduated with a Ph.D in Biochemistry from The University of Manchester in 2005, and after a long career in academic research and scientific instrumentation taking Liv to all parts of the globe, acquiring an allotment and the love of growing inspired a career change in a more creative direction.
Much studying ensued – art classes, R.H.S level 2 qualifications, a Diploma in Herbology from Royal Botanic Gardens Gardens Edinburgh, and then an intensive Diploma in Garden Design at the Yorkshire School of Garden Design with Alistair Baldwin and Liz Rawlinson, graduating in 2023. Following that she set up her own practice. Liv feels gardens play an important role in reconnecting us as humans with the natural world, and have been shown to mitigate many of the stresses of modern life.
Outside of work, Liv spends a lot of time walking her rescue greyhounds in the Peak District where she lives, or running through the peat bogs on a bright day, where she is invigorated by the beauty of the natural landscape which inspires her design
