JANE
GARDEN & LANDSCAPE DESIGNER
J A N E
GARDEN & LANDSCAPE DESIGNER.
After gaining a degree in Textile Design at Birmingham Polytechnic, Jane at first pursued a career in fashion and marketing. She has always been a keen gardener and when the opportunity arose she attended Reaseheath Collegewhere she gained a NOCN certificate in Garden Design. This included principles and history of garden design, and planting design. Jane subsequently studied RHS Practical Horticulture Levels 1 & 2, also at Reaseheath College.
She ensures her skills are up to date by attending Continual Professional Development on a weekly basis. Jane is familiar with the construction aspects of design: walling, paving, drainage and structures such as pergolas. Her expertise in the use of CAD systems as a tool for presenting the construction details helps the client to visualize and understand the hard landscaping. She is au fait with the design of specific elements: roof gardens, natural swimming ponds, or kitchen gardens, for instance.
Jane’s designs and work are fully compliant with U.K. Health and Safety regulations, and she is well versed in plant health and biosecurity. Her ultimate goal is to inspire biophilia. Connecting sensational gardens with the environment, she encourages her clients to delight in nature and the outdoors as much as she does herself.
Jane is an active member of the main industry bodies, helping to professionalise and develop the industry.
